Support » Plugin: Yoast SEO » Latest update breaks RSS feed

  • Resolved whatsupmf

    I got the prompt to “build your index, Yoast SEO needs to process all of your content.” but it only tells me there was an error when I click the link to process the website.

    Worse, it has broken our RSS feed functionality. Trying to use RSS widget results in this error:
    RSS Error: A feed could not be found at A feed with an invalid mime type may fall victim to this error, or SimplePie was unable to auto-discover it.. Use force_feed() if you are certain this URL is a real feed.

    Also now seeing this database error EVEN after deactivating the plugin:
    WordPress database error Table ‘wpMaria.wp9_54_yoast_indexable’ doesn’t exist for query UPDATE wp9_54_yoast_indexable SET permalink = NULL WHERE object_type = ‘post’ AND object_sub_type = ‘attachment’ made by require(‘wp-blog-header.php’), require_once(‘wp-load.php’), require_once(‘wp-config.php’), require_once(‘wp-settings.php’), do_action(‘plugins_loaded’), WP_Hook->do_action, WP_Hook->apply_filters, wpseo_init, WPSEO_Upgrade->__construct, array_walk, WPSEO_Upgrade->run_upgrade_routine, WPSEO_Upgrade->upgrade_141, WPSEO_Upgrade->reset_permalinks_of_attachments_for_141

    Looking at the error, it seems there is a problem when trying to access the tables.
    Can you please try the following?:

      1. Install & activate the Yoast Test Helper plugin
      2. Go to Tools -> Yoast Test
      3. Hit the “Reset indexables & migrations” button
      4. Delete your current Yoast SEO plugin installation.
      5. Re-install Yoast SEO 14.0.2
      6. Click the “Click here to speed up your site now” button.

    Can you please let us know if this solves the issue on your site?
