    Hi there,

I have been using Limit Attempts for all my sites, yet recently with the new plugin update only I have experienced an issue. With the new update, after activating the plugin when I log out and try and log back in again…I get a message which says I’ve been blacklisted. Even when I deactivate the plugin via FTP, clear my IP from the blacklist and reactivate…same thing happens, first time trying to login (correct details by the way) it blacklists me again.

Before this, I also experienced an error dialogue which had the red vertical band, but the error message area was blank…I also suspect this plugin was the cause.

I have since reverted to the version before this latest one and it is working fine. My host was also able to confirm it was this plugin causing the issue. Before this issue, this plugin was the best in my opinion for protecting login attempts…but this issue obviously needs some attention.

I am using the latest version of WP 4.1, my site is a multisite however I also experienced the exact same issue on a non-multisite I was using it on.

Looking forward to a reply. 🙂

    Hi P3Designs,

Unfortunately, it was impossible for us to reproduce the problem locally. Thus, we kindly ask you to provide the access to the Dashboard (with Administrator’s permissions) and the FTP, so that we could examine the problem by ourselves.
Since this data is confidential, maybe, it would be better if you created a private ticket on our support forum http://support.bestwebsoft.com/. In this ticket add a link to this post, so that we could recall the case immediately.

In case you’d prefer not to provide the access to the live website, would it be possible for you to create a test website on the same hosting and provide the access to this website?

Please provide System status as well. Instruction – https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Wi2X8RdRGXk9kMszQy1xItJrpN0ncXgioH935MaBKtc/edit

    Hi,

I’m using Version 1.0.7 on windows IIS server, and it’s blacklisting at the first login attempt. Even with the correct login details.

I’m using it on other sites and they are working well.

    Regards

    Paul

    Hi,

Unfortunately, we are aware about the problem, but as you can see, it is not systematic, thus it is difficult to reproduce and to fix it. However, we’re working on it.
Please do the following to unblock:
    1) Rename the plugins folder. The plugin will be deactivated and you will be able to log as admin.
    2) Reactivate the plugin and remove your IP from the blocked IP list or blacklist on the plugin settings page.
If the problem will not be solved in this way, then we kindly ask you to provide the access to the Dashboard (with Administrator’s permissions) and the FTP, so that we could examine the problem.

    Regards,
    BestWebSoft Support Team
