  • hi i’m doing the installation on mac:

but cannot do this part, i couldnt find where the database setup is, perhaps its changed? quite sure i’ve done everything before correctly:

Lastly, we’ve got to run WordPress’ famous 5-minute install. Visit your local site (localhost:port or localhost:port/wordpress), and enter the following information into the database setup form:

    database name: wordpress
    database host/server: localhost
    database user: root
    database password: root
Once that’s complete, enter a blog name and email address, and you’re ready to use WordPress on your Mac.

  • I’ve done the same thing and I’m lost here as the instruction is either wrong or left out steps. I don’t know up nothing works.
I to got to the database to fill out the form. No form, so I put the info in wp-config but did nothing for me. Can’t make any kind of connection to the localhost. I used the names and directories in the instruction.
The end result is nothing absolutely nothing. It sure would be nice if these ‘super techs’ would leave a link to contact them when they leave us hanging like this.

Well, any way I went back and tried again. The key to completing the install is when a page of text pops up with a link for help, take it. You will get the form to fill out and complete the install of WordPress and everything then works.
