Support » Plugin: My Custom CSS PHP & ADS » Last My Custom CSS PHP & ADS Update caused ERROR 500

  • I have about 40 WP-Sites using the My Custom CSS PHP & ADS-Plugin. A Bulk-Update crashed all WP-Sites showing a ERR_500. Log file says:

PHP message: PHP Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Class ‘Adsstudio\MyCustomCSS\behaviors\PhpSnippetBehavior’ not found in /var/www/html/wp-content/plugins/my-custom-css/modules/my-php.php:17

Anybody else having the same problems/isssues?

  • I have a similar problem but different error, immediately after update:

PHP Parse error: syntax error, unexpected 'private' (T_PRIVATE) in /var/www/wp-content/plugins/my-custom-css/pages/myphp/Edit.php on line 257

    Same here. Sites went down.

It looks like this plugin changed owners recently, and several errors were introduced into the code. I rolled mine back to 3.2 and that works OK. You can pick it up here:

Thank you @tommcgee for the 3.2.-version-Link!
That works fine for the moment and gives me the time to replace the plugin in all our sites if there is no bugfix in the next days.

    Same issue here!
    Thanks @tommcgee for the 3.2.-version-link! 🙂

Has anyone been able to get in touch with the developer for word on whether this is being addressed?

exactly the same for me with the 3.3 version:

PHP Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘private’ (T_PRIVATE) in /home/httpd/wordpress/public_html/wp-content/plugins/my-custom-css/pages/myphp/Edit.php on line 257

downgarding to 3.2 solved the problem.

    thanks @tommcgee

When you downgraded did it keep all the css code changes you made ..? Our client site became inaccessible when we applied the latest update so the server tech had a look and this was the issue:

[fcgid:warn] [pid 27640:tid xxxxxxxxxxxx] [client xxxxxxxxxxxxxx] mod_fcgid: stderr: PHP Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘[‘ in /var/www/vhosts/DOMAIN/httpdocs/wp-content/plugins/my-custom-css/my-custom-css.php on line 69

Had to disable the plungin to get back in the site but now can’t access the custom CSS we put in this plugin for the site.

Is there any way to access the custom css site settings made via this plugin, before we have to do a full site restore to the previous backup.?

    Hi @boneyboy ,

there is no ‘[‘ in my-custom-css/my-custom-css.php on line 69 for the version 3.2 (but yes there is one in the 3.3 version)

So it seems you did not downgrade.

I haven’t down graded yet – sorry if my post wasn’t clear. The crash happened when we UPGRADED, my question was if we DOWNGRADE will the CSS code changes we,ve made still be visible.?

After downgrading, I can still see the custom CSS changes that were made previously.

ah thanks for that – I’ll try the downgrade now.

Likewise I’m receiving the following error with v3.3. Downgrading works as a workaround.

PHP Parse error: syntax error, unexpected 'private' (T_PRIVATE) in my-custom-css/pages/myphp/Edit.php on line 257" while reading response header from upstream
