 * I run a wordpress site with a large number of posts – presently 126,000 posts.
 * It runs well, but the eventual target will be as many as 500k posts.
 * The posts themselves are straight text. I have avoided the use of custom fields
   to avoid multiplying up database calls.
 * I have abandoned the wordpress search, and fin that Google does quite a good
   job.
    Everything is cached. I like wordpress, and am impressed that it has got
   me so far, but I have to be confident that it will cope as the number of posts
   continues to grow.
 * Any guidance / suggestions?
 * (see swarb.co.uk if interested)

 * You should be fine. I currently run three different Multisite installations and
   the largest has 39K sites, and 260K users.
 * It’s so large that I cannot currently get an accurate count of posts and comments
   😉
