Large files failing in Zencoder (7 posts)

I have successfully used VideoZen with files up to 130mb.

I have tried several files between 225mb and 500mb. Successful uploads through the standard ADD MEDIA WP interface. However, Zencoder then consistently fails to download the file & returns a 500 error code.

Please help. I would really like to use VideoZen!!

    Hi Gary,

I'm a Zencoder employee, so I went ahead and took a look at the failed jobs. Are you sure the videos are successfully uploading in the first place? When I tried to directly access any of the input files that failed I got a 404 as well.

    @ Matt:
I had deleted the files that failed within Zencoder thru WP UI, so I would expect you to no longer see files.

I just made some changes to my PHP file within my iPage server account:
upgraded from PHP 5.2 to 5.3
    memory set at 128mb
    uploads set to 999mb
    post size set to 999mb

Uploaded new 225mb vid thru WP UI. VideoZen plugin sent file to Zencoder as expected. Zencoder job is now processing (ID: 39366433). We'll see momentarily if all goes well with handoff to Amazon S3.

    Success! Yippee!!

Now I'll play around to see how videos appear on various devices.

Quick question. I have a WP MU install & inadvertently uploaded the last video to the wrong site. So, I am now uploading the same vid with different name to the correct site.

Is there a easier solution considering plugin used?

Also, should I cleanup the failed jobs with Zencoder? How?

Nope, no need to clean up anything on the Zencoder side of things.

In regards to re-uploading the video to the correct site, if you don't mind paying to encode the video again, that will probably be the easiest.
