Large empty space below MetaSlider and MetaSlider Lightbox not working

    Hello MetaSlider Team,

    I am experiencing two issues with MetaSlider on my website.

    1. Large empty space below the slider
      • On the page, MetaSlider creates a very large blank area underneath the images.
      • All images in the slider have the same dimensions, so I don’t understand why the slider container is so tall.
      • Is there a recommended way to prevent this unnecessary space (e.g., by fixing the container height or adjusting the CSS)?
    2. Lightbox not working with MetaSlider Lightbox
      • I have installed and activated the MetaSlider Lightbox plugin (version 2.0.0).
      • However, the Lightbox does not open at all when clicking on the images.
      • At the same time, FooBox is also installed and works fine with FooGallery galleries on the same site.
      • Without FooBox, the galleries would not work, but the MetaSlider Lightbox plugin itself seems to have no effect.

    Could you please advise how to get the MetaSlider Lightbox plugin working properly (or how to make it compatible with FooBox)?

    about the gap, I recommend to set “Image Crop” as “Smart crop”. Hopefully that will fix the problem.

    Hi Steve, sorry there is no progress. Both problems are still there with the updated lightbox plugin.

    @htmgarcia that didn´t help, sorry. But I found a solution to get rid of the gap: Advanced Options – Smooth Height activated

    If I activate this, then dots are at the right place. No huge gap anymore. But I don´t know why I have to do this – the slideshows worked fine for over 5 years. Do I have to fix this option for every slideshow?

    Maybe this helps: I just noticed two things. The Lightbox does work now.

    And that the large empty space below the slider disappears after almost 20 seconds and then the layout looks perfect. But it’s not acceptable that it takes 20 seconds until it displays correctly. What could be causing this?

    Hi @christophsammer. I don’t see that delay in checking your site.

    If there’s a delay like that it’s likely to be a cache / optimization issue and I’d recommend checking any plugins you have that provide those services.

    Yes, I found the problem. It was Lazy Loading: eithe by the option in the metaslider slideshow advanced options or by the image optimization plugin Smush (which was recommended by my host company). I deactivated it now in the smush plugin and it worked instantly – I don´t know how I can have both solutions working side by side.

    One more feedback: since the update of the plugin MetaSlider Lightbox (version 2.10.0) I noticed that the slideshows disappear when you select “Enable Lightbox” in the Metaslider menu. The space simply remains empty – only after deactivating the lightbox function does the slideshow reappear. I’ve seen this phenomenon on two different websites. There seems to be a constant conflict between Metaslider, Metaslider Lightbox, and Foobox Image Lightbox.

    Thanks @christophsammer. It’s definitely possible that two lightboxes on the same site may causes issues. Are you still using Foobox Image Lightbox for any part of your site?

    @stevejburge yes I have to use Foobox Image Lightbox for my website galleries which are created with FooGallery. Here it is really essential.
