Languages without links

Hi all.
Im developing a new site based on WP 3.9 and qtranslate Version 2.5.40b .
Now if I use the widget I get the flags with their own link, instead if I use the following code <?php echo qtrans_generateLanguageSelectCode('image'); ?> to add the language selector in a place where there are no widgets the images have no link. Same if instead of ‘image’ I choose ‘both’ or ‘text’. On the contrary, if I change the code to <?php echo qtrans_generateLanguageSelectCode('dropdown'); ?> then the page changes according to what I choose on the dropdown, links work.
Anyone can help me please?
