# Language Switcher

 * Thanks for that alternative plugin to qTranslate-X.
    I deactivated qTranslate-
   X and activated WP-Multilang. All my content stays as is. No problems. The only
   issue I found is with the language switcher: My site is in French and English.
   When I browse a page in french I should have the /fr/ part in my URL. I don’t
   see it. It show like this: [https://mydomain.com/2017/09/01/article-02/](https://mydomain.com/2017/09/01/article-02/)
   While I’d wish it should show like this: [https://mydomain.com/fr/2017/09/01/article-02/](https://mydomain.com/fr/2017/09/01/article-02/)
   If I click on the English Language Switcher, this is the link it shows: [https://mydomain.com/en://mydomain.com/2017/09/01/article-02/](https://mydomain.com/en://mydomain.com/2017/09/01/article-02/)
   also: the flags and texts are not shown in the menu

    WP Multilang not use prefix for language by default. I see that format of
   url [https://mydomain.com/en://mydomain.com/2017/09/01/article-02/](https://mydomain.com/en://mydomain.com/2017/09/01/article-02/)
   firs time. Can You write me on my email _[redacted]_? And I try to help You.

 * Hi!
    i have the same problem: when i copy a link ( [https://domain/](https://domain/))
   and open it in incognito window it redirects me to the [https://domain/:/domain/en/](https://domain/:/domain/en/).
   Main language is russian, second – en. And another question – when i translate
   a menu (i made a new for second lang) and when i apply it for placeholder – it
   applies for main language too. Is it a bug or am i doing something wrong? Feel
   free to ping me for any details. Thanks!

 * Hi, l1va.
    You need use one menu for each language. First, You need translate
   pages which in menu. Then menu items if translations not applied automaticaly
   from pages. Custom menu items or post archives You need translate manually.

    i am using different menus, but maybe yes – the cause that it is
