Language half english – half french

Hello,

I have a strange display both in front-end and back-office.
Some texts are displayed in English and others in French.
In the back-office, I can manage but in the front-office it’s more annoying.
For example: the text under the date for a past event is “Expired!”; the button to navigate from one event to another is “NXT EVENT” or “PRV EVENT”.
I looked in the French language .po file and everything is OK. My browser is in French.

Noticed the same thing today and had to use a workaround. This only works if you use a custom skin. There you can customize and filter a lot. You’re right, it was not in the language files, for German too.

As one of the global mentors for the team WordPress Polyglots, let me comment that since WordPress 4.6 a language pack from WordPress.org (if there is one) takes precedence over any translation that happens to be included directly in the plugin itself.
So the best way to translate the free plugin would be by contributing to the translation of your locale via https://translate.wordpress.org/projects/wp-plugins/modern-events-calendar-lite/
As you can see, there are quite a few “fuzzy” strings in the #fr_FR (French) translation. A translation gets marked as fuzzy when there is a new string in the plugin code that has a very close match in previously translated strings – perhaps just a capitalized word that was changed to all lowercase, or a colon was added at the end of the string.
