    Hi, at first i have to admit, i like thios plugin very much. It’s one of my favorite plugins. Thank you!

    In the past, i changed the german translation directly in the .po file. I was used to reimport my changes any time i updated the plugin.

    It seems there are now dedicated language files in the /lang folder. So i changed the string “Please prove you are human by selecting the ” into a more suitable notice in the dedicated contact-form-7-image-captcha-de_DE.po file and rtecreated the .mo file aswell with po-edit.

    But to my surprise, the german string doesn’t change?
    From where does the string “Bitte beweise, dass du kein Spambot bist und wähle das Symbol ” come from? I changed it.

    Do i have to place the translated .po and .mo files to another place?

    Hello, I’m glad to hear that the Image CAPTCHA plugin is one of your favorite plugins, it has taken a lot of work to get it where it is today.

    So this plugin is in the process of moving from language files to WordPress’ language delivery system.
    Basically each plugin has an online language library which WordPress installs when you add the plugin. These language files override the local language files. I have not deleted the language files from the plugin yet as I am waiting for language system transition to be completed.

    You can suggest the change you want by going to the following URL

    Once you enter the changes, it needs to be approved by a German language Editor (which I am not).

    I like the idea behind the online language library since anyone can edit them, I’m just not a big fan of how the translations get approved, it takes a long time to get a translation approved unless you have a Language Editor.

    This is absolutely new to me. I’M curious… How does the mechanism work in detail?

    Do the wordpress installation itself reload behind the scene on-the-fly a translated string? Or from where do the strings come from then, when the language files aren’t used anymore?

    Your WordPress site will install the plugin translation file that matches your WordPress language settings when a plugin is added and or updated, but I’m not sure where they store the translations.

    Ahh, makes sense.
    There was someone here in this plugin forum who was able to use the german(Sie) translation. So, last question i swear :>

    I can make my own branch of a translation file? And how do i say while installing the plugin, which translation file i want to use?

    Unfortunately there is no way to create your own translation on WordPress’ translation system, you have to use the one they provide. For German, WordPress provides two translation versions, Formal and standard.

    If you want to customize the translation from is provided, there are two options that I can think of, the first being to override the translation provided by WordPress, I did a quick search and found the following directions on how to do this, but I’m not sure if it will work or not:

    The other option is to purchase the pro version of the plugin which gives you full control over the translation and still uses translation files.
