    OC2PS, soon when?

    @nobodyridesforfree

    Sorry for delay.

Generally at year-end, our most of team is free. So we planned a lot of work on BuddyPress-Media in holiday season! But this year, we have highest client-workload so there is delay.

Still, translation support can go live anytime before January 5.

hello rahul, in a few days, I can download the location?

I’m sorry, but I’m waiting anxiously for the update. When will it be?

    Hi,

Apologies for the delay, but we are refactoring all the code we’ve written over months and are a little short of resources, as Rahul as mentioned above.

However, tasks are being completed and work is progressing fine, even though its not as fast as we’d have wanted. You can see the progress here: https://github.com/rtCamp/buddypress-media/commits/master

As you’d notice, almost all our strings have been made translatable and we have started implementing GlotPress here: http://rtcamp.com/translate

We’re into the final stages of the refactoring. Once we’re through with the strings and before the testing and release, we’ll open the translation project, where we’d like to invite you to contribute.

Now, we are new to GlotPress, so not sure if we can start the translations, right away, or we would have.

It’s just a matter of days!

    Regards.

ok, I downloaded BuddyPress-media-it.po. Now. which folder I have to put BuddyPress media plugin?

    OC2PS

    (@sooskriszta)

@nobodyridesforfree Downloading the .po won’t do you much good.

    1. Italian translation is only 1% complete. Might become less complete after refactoring.
    2. WordPress needs the .mo file, not the .po file.
    3. BuddyPress Media is supposed to download and place the .mo file from http://rtcamp.com/translate automatically based on your wplang.

I think patience is the best course. Irrespective of what the developers are saying, I reckon it would take at least 2 weeks for them to have it fully up and running.

I can participate in the translation? I would like to lend a hand

    Hi,

Although the code is not complete, it is translation ready. The 1% translation that existed was just us experimenting with GlotPress.

@nobodyridesforfree, You’d have to register on http://rtcamp.com, after which you’d need to go to http://rtcamp.com/translate and maybe, re-login with your new username and password. You can start contributing to the translation, straightaway. The Italian set is here: https://rtcamp.com/translate/projects/buddypress-media/it/default

Although the code works, there’s still a bit of refactoring left before we release 2.4, so you could add your transalations and we could include it in the release.

    Regards.

new version 2.4 not compatible with 3.4.2 wordpress and buddypress 1.6.1, why not?

    Plugin Contributor Saurabh Shukla

    (@saurabhshukla)

BuddyPress has upgraded to 1.6.3 and WordPress changed a couple of things with 3.5 (which is why BuddyPress moved from 1.6.1). We will have to keep evolving.

Supporting legacy versions will bloat the code too much.
