Support » Plugin: Embed PDF Viewer » Lacks features

  • This plugin works, but… THE PDF FILE CANNOT BE DOWNLOADED. This plugin uses Google Docs to embed PDF files instead of the browser’s native PDF JavaScript code. There are no settings page to at least be able to change the size of the embed.

The link after the displayed PDF should allow you to download. If you provide a URL to the page I can take a look.

In fact, the plugin uses an object tag or the Google Docs viewer depending upon the browser support. It is clearly in the README description. I am unaware of any browser’s “native PDF JavaScript code”, but if you could point out some resources I’d love to learn more.

Lastly, you are correct, there are no settings to change the embed size. The size is set from a “default” that I totally made up. If it helps I can add in a filter to change the size. All you need to do is ask.

FWIW I’ve added a filter to the develop branch that you can test. It allows you to change the PDF attributes ( height, width, title ).
