Howdy @logiline,
Thank you so much for providing your feedback!
Once installed, it is impossible to go back: you must complete your registration and even by uninstalling it, you continue to have messages inviting you to complete the configuration.
WooCommerce Payments is built in partnership with Stripe, and they currently own that onboarding process. Not being able to “go back” and edit details is definitely an issue that we’re working with Stripe to resolve, as it is a common pain point for merchants. Right now, the only way to “reset” this process is to contact support so that we can delete the account. You can read more about the account deletion process here.
We’re currently working on taking a bit more ownership of the onboarding process so that we can better tackle issues like this directly, but I do not currently have an ETA on when this change will take place.
Today even after uninstalling it, I always have the message: “Action required: Please update WooCommerce Payments” and the dismiss button just don’t work !
My first inclination is that this is the result of caching, but without knowing your site’s configuration, there isn’t a way for us to identify why this notification may still be present even after WooCommerce Payments is no longer installed on the site.
One option to consider would be to add this code snippet to your functions.php
file (I recommend using a plugin like Code Snippets to do this for you) to clear any stubborn notices.
I hope this helps! If you need anything else, please feel free to reach us anytime!
Same problem, the banner “Action required: Please update WooCommerce Payments” do not want to go away, even after code snippet installed.
