Support » Plugin: IDX Realty Pro » Lack of documentation ‘forces’ you to pay

This plugin is as the developer says, free. Except that there is zero documentation or instructions on how to use it. The only way to get anything useful is if you want to pay for a license and get support. Which means this plugin is no more than an advertisement for their premium product.

I get that IDX is not free, but even working with a realtor who pays for IDX, I don’t see a simple way to use this plugin.

Currently I enable this plugin and it wants wp-cli installed, phrets, AWS SDK PHP and “Default Templates”. No explanation what wp-cli is for, and as a developer I don’t see any reason why this is necessary. I’m not going to install wp-cli ‘just because’. I understand the need for PHrets as that’s required to parse the RETS, but it just says it needs to be installed. WHERE!? Same for the AWS SDK, WHERE does this need to be installed? Also why the heck do you need the AWS SDK for? You’re loading and parsing RETS and displaying it. That’s no different than loading an XML file and displaying it. But I need wp-cli and AWS SDK to do it? Finally, I need to have “Default Templates” with a message of “No saved RETS credentials”, but no explanation what that is. So I have RETS credentials, and no license for the Pro version of the plugin. Where do I put in these RETs credentials so I can use this plugin for free? Because I”m not seeing it anywhere.

No IDX Plugin is “free”. If you find one, please let us know so we can use it too.

As for the issues you were experiencing, those have all been addressed in version 3.x
