    Hi,

at my site I have menus and submenus.

Next to almost every entry there is a “[L]”, which I did not create.

It must have something to do with the object it addresses.

The menu linked to a page does not have it, only the ones linked to categories.

Can you perhaps explain to me where it comes from, and how I can remove it ?

    That would be very kind.

    Thank you,
    Patrick

Please provide a link to a page on your site where we can see this. Thanks. Note: Your link will be public and we will not later remove it.

Hm, I just created a “Test” category with full access, it displays without an “[L]”.

When I restrict access to some local group for logged in users, an “[L]” is attached.

I think I could only show you an image of the phenomenon, for you to see this on my site directly I should give you access, and this would be an action I hesitate to do.

I do not want access, just a link so I can see the public front end of your site. But it sounds like this may be due to a plugin that restricts menu items to logged in users.

    I don’t see any “L”s at all.

As I said, you only see them when you are logged in.
Funny, I do not see them on my mobile … I’ll check tomorrow if it is browser-specific.

What plugin are you using to manage this?

    Thread Starter patrickpreuss

    (@patrickpreuss)

Okay, the “L” phenomenon manifests itself only when I am logged in as administrator, independent of the browser.

What do you mean with “manage”? My Plug-ins are:
Advanced Editor Tools (previously TinyMCE Advanced)
    Envira Gallery
    Limit Login Attempts Reloaded
    Media Cleaner
    one.com themes and plugins
    Performance Cache leeren
    Post Types Order
    Quotes Collection
    Really Simple SSL
    Redirection
    Responsive Image Maps
    Search & Filter
    Shortcode Widget
    User Access Manager
Woody code snippets (PHP snippets | Insert PHP)
    Yoast Duplicate Post`

Then I guess it’s a feature to remind you of what logged in users can or can’t see. I suspect it’s coming from the User Access Manager plugin.

    100% correct !

I deactivated the UAM, no “L”s.

After you gave me a clue I checked the documentation of the UAM, and there it is:

Why am I getting an [L] after the title of posts?

This is an administration hint added to restricted contents and is only shown to users which have the rights to configure the User Access Manager (administrators and so on). This can be deactivated at the settings page.

    Thank you !
