Kyle of Alberta is a blog written by a disgruntled American citizen moving to Alberta on the long and winding road to becoming a fully Canadian citizen living in Alberta.

You can get directly to the blog at http://www.kyleofalberta.ca/blog/ or visit the main site at http://www.kyleofalberta.ca/ (working on a good design)

Pretty nice, looks like a tweaked connections.

A couple things: The subcategories look aweful, to be honest. You need to fix that bullet list.

You only need one skype buttton. It looks crowded with ten different buttons.

One of my pet peeves is link hovers that make the links invisible when you hover, as is the case with the navigation. Make 'em black or dark red or something, not white.

Speaking of the nav, it works better on top of the header. It looks like a loose end where it is now.

All in all it's pretty solid, though

  3. Welcome to Canada, here's your toque. ;)

    (nice header)

    Okay, here's my beef.

One, yes it is a tweaked Connections. Yes, I leave attribution. Yes, I am working on a new style.

Two, the Skype buttons ARE annoying and will be removed later on. Right now, I am focusing on making a custom design.

Three, I plan to integrate it with my site (once I get the darn thing done -_-). But I have been working on a GREAT theme.

Fourth, for those of you whom think I am just full of hot air when I say I've made a nice design, you can see it at http://www.kyleofalberta.ca/images/layouts/preview2006-04-10.gif . (I think it's nice. You might not, but please keep your criticisms constructive)

Finally, I am angry at my parents for not taking a little trip through the provinces in the third trimester so I could be born in Canada and thus, attain citizenship much easier. But I'll forgive them. Probably when I become a citizen.

Same comments as above. The search box is in a funny position, stuck 3/4 of the way down the sidebar. It also looks a bit funny having the elements centered (or centred) when everything else is left-aligned.

But a lovely esthetic (or aesthetic).

    Good luck becoming a Canadian!
