    This is a known issue as of July 23, 2021.

    Unfortunately, this is occurring due to a temporary bug in the Instagram “Personal” (Basic Display) API which has been reported by multiple developers over night. Here are links to some relevant bug reports (report one, report two). This isn’t due to an issue with WordPress or with our plugin itself, but is an issue with Instagram’s API itself and so is affecting all plugins and all apps that use their API. This means that we can’t release a plugin update to fix this and have to wait until Instagram resolves the bug. As it’s such a critical issue, hopefully Instagram will resolve it very quickly.

    In the meantime, this bug does not affect the “Business” API, and so you could convert your Personal Instagram profile into a Business profile by following these directions. It is free to do this and business accounts have some additional perks too. Once you’ve done this (or if your profile is already a business profile) then you can reconnect your account in our plugin by clicking the “Connect Instagram account” button, and then select the “Business” option.
