Support » Plugin: Yoast SEO » Keywords and Trade Mark symbols

  • Hi there
Can anyone give me a bit of advice please?

I have a page that I’m configuring the SEO for. The product its selling is the keyword that we wish to use, but we are bound to put a trademark symbol (or rather a superscript TM) on the product name each time its mentioned, so SEO is telling me that my keyword isn’t used in the right places.

Has anyone else any experience of this and if there is a best way to deal with it please?

    Thank you

  • Ideally you should use the HTML entites for ™ marks, and not superscript letters.

can’t paste in the entity codes here even with code as they get converted to the characters … see above link

Hi Neotrope – thanks for your reply.
Good point about the use of entities, but I have tried that and the same thing happens. The plugin warns that the keyword is not in use in the important places.

I’m sure this must happen from time to time given that people do search for brand names, and the big brands do often insist that the TM symbol is used.
