[resolved] Keeps asking for a password change (3 posts)

    Hi there

    We had a user name under attack with a bunch of failed logins. When I went to login, I got the password reset message (as I should!).

    However, after I reset the password and try to login again, I am asked to reset the password AGAIN. And again and again and again. This is using Chrome and Firefox. I have cleared my cache several times.

    Interestingly, this does not happen in IE7 (yes, my company has an outdated browser).

    I am receiving the "verify you logged in" and "potential intrusion" emails, but I never actually get to the Dashboard, since it keeps asking me to reset my password every time I try to login.

    OK, it looks like since I was resetting the email from one IP and trying to login after resetting on another IP, it wasn't working (I receive the reset emails on my work email, where I'm logged in via a VPN). I forwarded the password reset email to another email address outside the VPN, reset the password from there, and I was able to login.

    However, it seems that if I reset the password, I should still be able to login, even from a different IP. Is this part of the plugin's security settings?

    Yes. Since the attack was still fresh, it was only letting you in from the IP address used for the password reset.
