Hi @ruhanirabin,
Thanks for getting in touch. The error generally appears when there’s a conflict with WP Mail SMTP and the plugins using different Google API library such as ‘Updraft Plus’, ‘Simple Calendar’ etc. We are looking for an enhancement to avoid such conflict in the future. Could you please confirm if you have either of these or any such other plugins? In the meantime, you could switch to other available mailers.
I hope this helps!
@sanzeeb3 Thanks for getting back to me. Yes, I can confirm I am (also) using UpdraftPlus. Since my domain email is google hosted, so I can’t really switch to any other service at the moment, I will wait for you guys for an alternative non-conflict solution.
Regardless of the Notice msg, the emails get delivered from the contact form tho.
It is just annoying a bit to see the msg on every admin page, is there any filter I can use for that – temporarily?
Hi there,
Getting the same message since I updated the plugin from 2.0.1. The message shows on every page. Still have an old backup copy of the site with version 2.0.1 and it all works fine and no messages.
The error shows:
“EMAIL DELIVERY ERROR: the plugin WP Mail SMTP v2.1.1 logged this error during the last time it tried to send an email:
Mailer: Other SMTP
SMTP Error: The following recipients failed: (user email address) relay not permitted
Please review your WP Mail SMTP settings in plugin admin area. Consider running an email test after fixing it.”
When I run a test email it works and the banner message goes away only to return. All emails are working and arriving. Why is the message showing up please?
Many thanks…Paul
Exactly the same thing I am also having @paulmah
As @ruhanirabin I too have UpdraftPlus
Hi @paulmah should we revert back to 2.0.1? I think i agree with you since the 201 I am having this notice issue, the problem will be it will keep on showing update plugin notification, probably need to find a way to suppress that
Hi @ruhanirabin my worry would be missing any updates that make the plugin more secure.
@sanzeeb3 is this conflict causing “real” problems that could impact the site?
Thanks…Paul
Hi @ruhanirabin and @paulmah,
please read this reply, which will explain why you see the error message and that we are working on fixing these 3rd party library version conflicts.
For now, you can downgrade to v2.0.1 so you don’t see the error message, but like others with Updraft plugins have confirmed the failing email is just the Updraft notification email, other emails should work OK.
Take care!
Hi Gregor,
Thanks for the clarification it’s reassuring to know what’s wrong and that you’re on the case.
It would be very helpful if you can point me to where I can download a copy of the 2.1.0 version please?
Cheers…Paul
Hi,
thanks, @ruhanirabin for providing the answer.
@paulmah as @ruhanirabin said, 2.0.1 will be the plugin version that should not display the error admin notice. Use that version.
Take care!
Cheers @ruhanirabin got the version.
Thanks @capuderg brilliant help.
Have a good week all
