Keep focus on calendar

I’m working with the TwentyFourteen theme with the default posts calendar. The problem is that the when navigating the calendar months using the arrows, the whole page refreshes and then opens at the top of the page. The calendar is at the bottom so users have to scroll down to see the month’s content.

What can I do to have only the calendar refresh, or if the whole page has to refresh so it will open at the location of the calendar. Your help is appreciated.
