K2 header

  • I’m currently using the K2 template, but I’d like to modify the header and the background in order to have a customized picture. However, since there is no header picture to just replace, or background pattern, how can I do this?

  • #header {
    padding: 0;
    margin: 0;
    position: relative;
    height: 200px;
    background: #ff0000;

    That’s the part to start with. Changing the background as I have done gives a red bg.

    Hi Podz

    Where would you insert this code ? in the header.php within K2 theme ? at the top ?

    that goes into the CSS file, and i’m not sure – but will either create or replace a current header style format

    hi 🙂 ladydelaluna

    what would the CSS file be called ? header.css ?

    i´m very new forgive me

    in your admin section – go to “presentation” and then to “theme editor”

    look for either “style.css” or “stylesheet” on the right hand side and when you click it, it will bring the stylesheet into the editor for you.

    (we were ALL new once!)

    Alright 🙂 i´m getting there

    so let´s say i wanted to use this plugin : http://www.lynk.de/wordpress/flashfader/

    where would i but the code for that in the style.css 🙂

    i´m sorry if i´m going ahead of myself.

    p.s i got the plugin working fine but i could not make it cover the whole “blue” box header.

    You might benefit from this plugin, also.

    okay – the flashfader plugin code goes into the sidebar file, wherever it is that you want the flashfader to show up.

    the plugin itself goes into your plugins folder – you’ll most likely need to FTP that up yourself once it’s downloaded and all.

    the “header” stuff wasn’t a plugin – that was CSS code.

    What about if I want to insert a picture into the K2 header, rather than just manipulate the colours? And any suggestions on creating a wallpapered background?

    knsheps – try doing some searching in google for CSS and HTML tutorials… that will help you much better and faster than these forums…

    I run K2 also.
    Make it really easy on yourself and go get this plugin:

    Easy to insert header pic any time you want to.

    Thanks for the plugin, that was awesome. And beleive it or not, I’ve read through 2 CSS tutorials. They’re good for simpler templates I’ve found.
