I recently added the jwPlayer to my wordpress site and would like to display the jwPlayer in a widget area on the page. I found the following website outlining a similar issue: http://www.longtailvideo.com/support/forums/jw-player/video-encoding/12979/jwplayer-in-wordpress-as-widget/. I used the steps that were outlined for adding the following code to the jwplayermodule.php file, add_filter(“widget_text”, “jwplayer_tag_callback”, 11). After this step, I tried to add the following shortcode to a text widget: [jwplayer config=”” file=”http://localhost:8888/test/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/video1.flv”]. I am testing on my local machine, but whenever I refresh the page, the widget area is empty. If I do a view source the area is truly empty. Could someone explain what the fix for this would be? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
