Hi Jazzman, wow that does seem like a reasonable request, but no at moment I can’t think of a way to make that happen with current setup. Except maybe put a search in the shortcode parameter su=somethingthatisn’t thereatallinanyfield. Untested, just rambling here. also wasted effort as it would search by default for nothing each display, so NOT a great solution….

But the brain is already buzzing. I’ll let the subconcious work on it.

Challenge would be … how to allow one to say that that is what one whats ? – A shortcode parameter maybe…..

    hmmmm?

This is a must have for this plugin, especially for the paid version, which I now have. It would be huge to have this! HUGE!

well – i hope it works the way you want.
    Version 3.5 just gone up.

add shortcode parameter start_empty=1 – will start with a blank list. Of course you MUST then have filtering or search displayed !

    [userlist start_empty=1]

This works beautifully for me, but I can’t display it on archive-pages for some reason. I’ve tried adding it as a widget together with plugins such as “shortcodes in widgets” to display the search box and it works on all pages except archive pages such as taxonomy-pages.

Any idea why this might be?

When I insert a shortcode for a list I only get the standard output.
I can’t choose which list to get except if I use the widget, and then the search-box won’t render. I’ve tried other themes, rebuilding the cache, reinstalling the plugin but no different results.
Could it be that there’s something in the cache that’s bothering the lists?

    Edit
The problem was with a plugin called Simple User Listing. I’ve notified the developer.

Is there any way to customize/add text into the search box? I couldn’t find any parameters for the shortcode and I don’t want to edit the plugin-files.
