Unfortunately changing the order in a category will also affect the order on the blog page.
I will open a ticket regarding this though so we can fix in a future update.

I would also need this. I only need to be able to reorder my featured posts, which means one category. Problem is, when plugin is active, this one category i want to be custom ordered, all other catogeries should stay bydate ordered.

Here is an example why this would be usefull.
We have articles to custom sort only on the frontpage – category featured. All other categories should stay date ordered, problem is when plugin is active, sorting is custom displayed everywhere and on site with 5000 articles thats a problem 🙂
