• Hi,

I just installed 2.6 on my server. Everything went smoothly until I clicked on a post on my homepage. I got a 404 error. Huh? Turns out not a single page works. I get 404 errors on every postpage or permanent page, except for the homepage, only the homepage works. All plugins activated or deactivated makes no difference. I tried restoring my database through myPHPadmin, but entering the dashboard afterwards required another upgrade, and gone again were the posts, pages and comments. I tried going back to 2.5.1 but that didn’t work either (I couldn’t login to the dashboard anymore; too many redirects or something).

Code is poetry, I agree. But is there any poet out there with some ideas what seems to be the problem? Much obliged.

    -Erwin

  • clearing the cookies for your wordpress site in your browser will help to login.

if u have revert the permalinks to default setting like ?p=123 structure it will work.

ofcourse, a temporary solution 2 keep your site running

Thanks, Ravidreams, changing the permalinks works. Strange because it didn’t work earlier…
