Just finished: N7

  • I debated with myself for quite a bit on whether to add blogging software or not.

I tried out TextPattern, and WordPress, and chose WP because its presentation editor was much, much better, and everything seemed a lot more elegant.

So I added WP, and after a little bit fit it into my design, and now my site’s been ‘pressed’ 🙂

    Anyway, here it is:

    Your thoughts are appreciated!

  • I like its simplicity, but there are a couple of suggestions I would make.
Firstly, I don’t think the green sidebar compliments the blue/grey of the rest of the site.
Secondly, the dashed outline of the search button and search text field seem out of place. Your site is, to me, formal-looking, and the dashed line is just not in keeping with the look of the rest of the site.

Glad you chose WordPress…welcome, and make sure to have fun!

    Thanks for the reply/feedback!

I’ve heard similar comments about the green side bar, and I completely agree. I tried blue, but then things seemed too monochromatic. I’ll play around with that a bit and try to get somehting better.

I’ll try a solid border too and see how that goes.

    Thanks again, I appreciate it!

Here are a couple of helpful resources for generating colour schemes:

    Sweet links – thanks man!

I think I’m just going to either make it a very very light blue, or maybe even still green, but much lighter.

One other thought. I’d make your ‘mouseover’ colour different than your ‘current tab’ colour. It’s a bit confusing because while you’re hovering with the mouse, it looks as though two tabs are selected.
