just created new site in wordpress, old site and 301 redirects question

  • Hi,
I just updated a buddy’s 9yr old site into a WordPress site, all of the old site uses the .htm suffix.
Should I do 301 on all the pages (there’s only 6 pages in old site including the index.htm)
Is there any need to do a redirect from index.htm to index.php??

    thanks
    T

That’s probably the easiest solution in this case, yes.

Is there any need to do a redirect from index.htm to index.php?

No. Not unless index.html was specifically referenced anywhere.

ok, this is all new to me, do i write these rules in the htaccess file or would you advise to use a wp plugin (if opne exists)?
    thanks

Just add them to the WP root .htaccess file.
