# Just checking mail setup

 * Hey, I’m new to SMTP setup and using WP Mail SMTP for basic site emails. After
   connecting a mailer, what’s the best simple way to confirm everything is working
   fine without changing too many options?

 * I am glad to help.
 * The first step is to send a test email from **WP Mail SMTP > Tools **to a couple
   email addresses:
    - If they go out fine, it means the WP Mail SMTP plugin is configured properly.
    - If you get an on-screen error there is a “**See Full Error Log**” button if
      you scroll a bit, click it to see more details about the error.
    - If you get a warning, there are links and or instructions on how to fix things.
 * This will let you know if your site is ready to send emails. Then you need to
   test your forms, ecommerce emails, etc. To make sure they are properly set.
