  • Hi @chriscwm,
in defense of Gutenberg, you don’t need to install this plugin due is already part of the WordPress core.

Everybody already knows that, including me, as evidenced by my comment. It was the worst thing to ever happen to WordPress.

My intention by leaving feedback is that maybe if WordPress realizes that almost everybody hates Gutenburg, that they might actually kill it off.

Be cautious with absolutes like “Everybody”. I committed to giving Gutenberg a chance starting on Jan, 1 2020 and it has become my favorite web development tool of all time.

It works superbly in most areas and not so well in a few. I use the features that work well and ignore the ones that have problems. On occasion I go back and check the problem areas to see if they’ve been fixed yet. Little by little they’re all getting fixed.

Gutenberg is one of the “Best” things to happen to WordPress… for this creator anyways.

Yeah I have to admit Gutenberg does some really cool stuff, but unfortunately I don’t need or use any of those things. Very cool though. I just need a plain old simple text editor 99.99% of the time. I bet people who do page layout stuff love Gutenberg.

Haha, this is VERY helpful. We don’t have to install it, it’s true. But we can’t remove it now. We can just disable it using an additional plugin.

It always seemed to me that people who are really engaged in the layout of web pages are very fond of the usual text editor =)
