    *Reads. Well OK then.*

@upfiv There are ways to respond to a bad review. Accusing the reviewer of being a spammer is, amazingly, not one of them.

How about you try and reply to the actual review?

And keep in mind that there are now 3 people involved in this review. One is nameless, one is a forum moderator (and doesn’t really matter) and the other one may want to consider the impact a reply could have on the reputation of a company they are trying to represent.

Thanks for your honest reply. Have you ever submitted a review of a product without being a confirmed customer—-meaning you actually purchased and tried the services that you left the review for?

I hope not for the business’s reputation or brand, as that would definitely impact their ability to reach and communicate with actual Customers.

    Again, I appreciate the reply.

    Yes. What’s your point?

You can reply in any fashion you choose. But you’re wrong, nothing here indicates the reviewer is spammer and the review left by this user are not spam.

Then shame on you for misleading others and intentionally causing harm to a business’s brand.

To leave a review without trying the product is malicious and utterly disrespectful to the community entirely, considering those who truly intend becoming customers because they purchased the services.

To advocate this type of behavior is cynical and deemed as unacceptable behavior.

    OK, correction.

I’ve never left a review for anything I’ve not actually used. I have left reviews before.

What you are not getting is that you got a short review and you have absolutely no idea if the reviewer tried your plugin or service. You do not have any way to connect a user on this site to your service at all.

Instead of replying well, you accused the user here and picked a fight. That’s fine. As I wrote above, you can reply in any way you like.

Do not be put off when potential users of your service make decisions based on your behavior. That’s all I am saying.

We actually track this information— when a User boards our platform because we want to provide ample support for our SEO Wizard Services.

Possibly, you did not read the review, as it clearly is regarding the price of the services and not the actual use of the services. We were reviewed on the basis of Price from a blogger/website owner who did not sign up for our services.

    That is truly unfortunate.

As painful as this is about to be to hear, that’s actually a fair complaint.

If everything costs money to use, even as a service, people are allowed to not like that.

This is a human expressing their opinion on your pricing structure, not a spammer. I recommend you not sling accusations like that, as it doesn’t generally make people want to use your products.

And to be clear here, there’s nothing wrong with charging for a service. It just doesn’t mean people have to like it.

Reviews are for customers not spectators. Which is a universal truth shared by WordPress, Google, and other platforms that offer website hosting and developer services and tools.

That wasn’t a review but a glaring statement.

This is a review of a person’s experience with your plugin, and that’s what reviews are, pure and simple.

As 1-star reviews are often viewed more than 5-star reviews, you had an option to show prospective users that you’re willing to help them even if they’re upset. You chose this approach instead, and that is what prospective users will see.

As this subject has been pretty much beaten to death now, I’ll leave you with this two articles that I strongly suggest you read:

No. Reviews are for humans who have an experience. If the experience is “I choose not to use this because everything costs money” then it’s a valid experience.

Also your users here are not your customers.

I’m speaking as the plugin team rep at the moment, the review is valid and will stand.
