My team and I are looking to jump ship from eventOn, to a more less landmine coded plugin. We’ve found yours, but have questions.

The biggest piece of functionality we need is for the calendar page to have this functionality:
    Page Mockup

    1) When a date is selected on the calendar to the right, corresponding events for that date populate to the left under “Events on…”,

    2) Below all of that is a “Month at a Glance” listing of all individual dates for that month, and that list gets updated on the fly with the selection of the month ticker located above the calendar at the top.

Our current progress is about 80% there, but not reaching full potential due to the nature of the plug-in. We won’t need step-by-step instruction on how to get your plug-in looking JUST like that, as we can handle the styling no problem.

What we need to know is, free or pro, does your plug-in come close to fulfilling these needs? And, if yes, can we rely on guided information by you to essentially break apart your plug-in for a more customized solution?

Feel free to look through the provided comps and the staging site to get a full sense of what i’m talking about in case it’s not really clear here 🙂

  • Hey there, Brandon!

These are all excellent questions and I’m stoked you’re looking into The Events Calendar.

I think our plugin to be extremely extensible. While our PRO support covers troubleshooting issues related to installing and using the plugin, we are always happy to do our best to answer specific questions related to how the calendar’s functions work or where to find that documentation.

Speaking of which, you may want to check out our Themer’s Guide and documentation. The guide will outline the process for overriding any of the calendar’s templates with your own customized layout and the documentation spells out the available functions for changing the behavior of the calendar.

Looking at the mockups, I do think The Events Calendar PRO would be a good match, given the available Event List and Mini Calendar widgets it provides. Match that with the Themer’s Guide and you can customize both widgets to get the look and feel you need.

I hope this helps make your decision a little easier. If you have more questions, I’d suggest hitting us up on our Pre-Sales forum–we respond to that forum daily as opposed to this one which gets hit weekly.

Thanks for reaching out and checking out the plugins. 🙂

    Geoff
