    Hi Tobias!

We have an existing pricing table in an APP.NET framework that we want to use to feed the data to these “static” wordpress tables.

    1) I would like to send over formatted html, with inline CSS – that should be doable yes?

    2) Anyway to auto-update the table based on changes in the JSON feed? Or any other tricks you can share to keep the table continuously updated when the feeder/parent table is updated?

    Thanks!

    Hi,

thanks for your question, and sorry for the trouble.

    1) Importing HTML is no problem, but the importer will throw away all inline CSS styling and other attributes. Only table data can be imported.

    2) The best way here would be to use the Table Auto Update Extension from http://tablepress.org/extensions/table-auto-import/ and set a low time span.
With this, you can import a JSON table (TablePress needs that to be a two-dimensional JSON array).

    Tobias

So I would need to format the cells in the CSS of the plugin, not the JSON feed? And it would be persistent across auto-updates?

    Hi,

yes, you would configure the CSS once in the “Custom CSS” on the “Plugin Options” screen. After that, updating the table data (manually or through the auto-import) will still use that CSS.

    Regards,
    Tobias
