I am using the Uptown Style theme for my website and pasted the [user-submitted-posts] shortcode onto one of the pages. This resulted in “Updating failed. The response is not a valid JSON response.”. Is there something I’m doing wrong here?

    Thanks.

I don’t know tbh. The plugin is tested/developed on default WordPress themes only. So to see how it works normally, try switching temporarily to any of the default WordPress themes and try again. You will find there is no such error.

Then for specific issues with how your theme displays shortcodes (like [user-submitted-posts]), best advice would be to ask your theme developer. They will know best what’s happening/required for their own theme.

Hi @kierenparkes, just wanted to follow up with this. It’s been awhile with no reply, so I hope the issue is resolved? Or if there is anything I can do to help, please let me know. Thank you.

Hi there sorry forgot to reply, as it turns out it wasn’t an issue with the plugin but rather the permalinks on my site were causing the issue. Appreciate the help.
