Due to a change to Safari on iOS any javascript that opens a mailto: or tel: link requires an additional “ignore/allow” box before it opens the mail client.

With javascript tracking enabled in this plugin it intercepts the mailto: link to track it then I assume does a javascript call to the open the email client. Safari is reading this as ONLY javascript opening a mail client despite the user’s intent to mail to begin with and showing a security warning “this website has been blocked from automatically composing an email” that the user can then interact with.

I understand that it is the plugin’s intent to track people clicking on mailto links but it may impact actual email sending when users see a box saying “this website has been blocked from automatically composing an email”.

This has been a feature of Safari since at least November 2016.
