No matter what jQuery based slider I use ( I have used Nivo, Vslider, many others) I encounter this weird problem.

At the top of my site, I have a fairly larger “feature roll”. The images will cycle through sometimes a few times, then they start to “break apart”, or bleed into one another. In other words, you can see little pieces of the previous images.

I have tried many things to fix the problem, and it’s hard to describe what I mean. It leads me to believe that it is a memory issue, but I have 128M on this site.

    Here is the site:

Look at the large header at the top of the site. There are about 5 images max that will scroll/fade etc. After a couple cycles through, you will see what I mean about them breaking up.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  • Thats quite odd, I’m running safari on a fast mac with good ram and fast broadband. At first its fine. Im not sure if the music player somehow triggers the mishap or if thats a coincidence? Different blocks show up each time, there isn’t even any trend to where the previous image shows through! Very odd.

Have you looked at Coda slider? A guy i know did some stuff with it at work and it seemed stable.

I just tried removing the audio player from the header and still no go. I am open to new sliders, however, this has happened with every one I have used.

Leading me to believe there is a problem with my site config somewhere.

I am relatively experienced with WordPress, but for the life of me, can’t find the culprit to this issue.

Thanks so far though, hopefully more ideas may come in. Greatly appreciated!

hopefully you will get it sorted. The site looks very good to me. The music isn’t too bad either! Im a guitarist and quite a fan of rock/metal. Im guessing by your user name you play?

Thanks much, and indeed, I am the guitar player in the band.

Hoping I can figure this out. Only doing it on my site, never experienced this on any of my client’s sites.

Ok, problem is resolved and I cannot believe I did not check this.

I was using one brand of slider at the top of the page and another at the bottom. 2 different plugins entirely, but caused memory issues and conflicts.

Solution was to only use the Header slider on homepage, and footer slider on every other page. Works like a charm now.

    Thanks!
    Eric
