I’ve spent a day on this and can’t crack it. I’m not an expert but I very thoroughly read and followed all the recommended methods of using jQuery in WP and can’t get this simple method to work out. This is a static page with all the elements (style, structure and scripts) embedded, so you can see what it is like
It uses jQuery to cause an absolutely positioned sidebar, which would otherwise remain fixed at the side, to move up if we scroll all the way to the footer and run out of space. I have noticed that it does not work with newer versions of jQuery than the one it calls strangely, so I was working with WP 3.0.5 and jQuery 1.3.2. Can’t figure out the right way to modify it so it will run in WP, even though it works fine here
