Jquery Conflict - Complete Newb (2 posts)

    Hi all,

I am a complete newb and am completely lost when it comes to figuring out my jquery conflict issue.

Here is the situation. I am supposed to be loading new content for someone on their already-built WordPress site. The site was built by a professional developer, and then handed over. That developer is now MIA.

My job is simply to update the content (new photos, news releases, etc.). I have used WordPress before, so was comfortable taking over such a simple task.

Now to the actual problem. I am unable to use any plugins with Jquery. I know the issue is somewhere in the custom theme that was created, but I know nothing about jquery or development in general. I determined the problem is the custom theme, because if I load the site with a different theme the problem does not exist.

Can anyone walk me through the steps I need to take in order to find and correct this issue? The site in question is http://www.liveoakinternational.com.

Any and all help would be appreciated. Please keep in mind I am not a developer and know very little about coding.

You have a bunch of jquery and javascript errors. Use Firebug with Firefox, or use the developer tools in Chrome or Safari or IE to see what javascript is loading on your site and any errors.

The old devleoper may not have corretly enqueued javascript in the custom theme. See Function Reference/wp enqueue script « WordPress Codex
