Jquery and WordPress

Hey Everyone!

2 quick questions about the javascript library – Jquery & WordPress:

1. How fast does Jquery load when using the wordpress function – wp_enqueue_script(‘jquery’); ? Or is more efficient to load it through googleapis.com (its about 16mb total that way).

2. Can anyone point me in the right direction. I’m looking for a way to implement a similar slideshow gallery as the one featured under the Latest from the Blogs heading on this page – http://www.huckmagazine.com/

I want to be able run a wordpress loop to show a certain category in a slide show format.

Any help or links would be much appreciated!
