Support » Plugin: Bullhorn Career Portal WordPress Plugin » Job Titles not shortened on mobile device

    Hi, I’ve noticed that on mobile devices (ex. Safari on my iPhone) the job titles are not being shortened with an ellipses which forces the plugin to be wider than the parent element and cause horizontal scrolling. On desktop browsers, it works fine, the titles are shortened and it stays at 100% width.

    I have both the plugin and the parent element set at 100%.

    The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi Denil,

    Can you tell me please how you managed to change the colors in the job section? I can’t figure out how to change them on my website: https://openbanking.world/index.php/job/

    I also cant find the categories? How did you manage to show them?

    Thanks!

    Hello, this appears to be a similar problem to this thread here.
    https://wordpress.org/support/topic/job-details-not-responsvie/

    I suggest perhaps implementing the fix the user used in that thread
    <meta name=”viewport” content=”width=600px, height=650px” />

    @jaron1231 the site uses CSS so you should be able to update it with some specific styles

    @charlesabarnes thanks for the reply

    If I change the styles in The Theme customizer, or the plugin editor, they don’t seem to change on the front-end.

    Even if I delete all CSS in the plugin editor, the application still looks the same. Where can I change it?

    @jaron1231

    Because the job broad is in an iframe it is not affected theme / Customizer CSS so you will need to add/change to the CSS for the job broad.

    This part of the reason we build Matador Jobs to get that deep integration.

    @pbearne thanks for the reply Paul,

    Is it possible to add locations and categories in the free version of matador?

    Both Location and categories are imported to WordPress by Matador

    You can install alongside OSCP for testing

    Note: the free version doesn’t support applications!

    you have something wrong with your server/WP setup you shouldn’t need index.php in you URL’s
    https://openbanking.world/index.php/job/
    but it should look like this
    https://openbanking.world/job/

    I don’t want to set a specific width and height, I want it to be responsive like the rest of the website. It used to work just fine, but something changed recently. I think if the job titles would automatically shorten on mobile (like it does on desktop) then it would be fine.

    What device are you using? I am seeing it function as it should. I want to attempt to see the same issue.

    (@denilchan)

    I have an iPhone XR. My clients are seeing the issue as well, I’m not sure what their devices are. I put up a few screenshots to show: http://denisechandler.com/screenshots.html

    The mobile version is almost right, it just pushes it as wide as the longest job title. It used to be like the desktop version where the job title gets shortened with an ellipses.

    Seems like its only on IOS. I am seeing it behave correctly on a few Android devices. It appears as if the iphone possibly believes the viewport width is the landscape resoltuion?

    perhaps you can try setting in your viewport content maximum-scale=1

    Unfortunately, that didn’t change anything.

    Are you going to look into fixing it? Seems like something that needs to be fixed with the plugin, not the website.
