Job “Monthly Backup (Entire Site)” has started, but not responded for 10 seconds

I keep getting a “Job “Monthly Backup” has started, but not responded for 10 seconds.” Error every time I run backwpup. It never actually finishes and it never creates a log. Any thoughts? Thanks.
