    Hi, I am moving to a new web host DreamHost. While migrating my website to DH, I deactivated Jetpack and upon activating I get connectivity problem with
    It gives me an error as follows:
    “Error Details: The Jetpack server was unable to communicate with your site [HTTP 500]. Ask your web host if they allow connections from”
    All ports on DH are open.

    The thing is, I have not made the website live from DreamHost servers yet. I am using the provate view provided by DreamHost. So is it because, the view is not yet public? How do I connect to in private view?

    That’s why. You don’t. You have to be non-private for Jetpack to connect 🙁

    Thanks for the report! As Mika mentioned above, the reason that you are having trouble connecting is due to the fact that you are working on a private site. Since we’re unable to access your site, Jetpack is unable to connect.

    However, Jetpack does include a Development Mode, which allows you to use some of Jetpack’s modules without requiring a connection to the servers.
