    I cannot get the posts on my homepage to present in summary fashion. Instead, each post is the full post. In Jetpack, I selected “Summary” for “For each article in a feed, show” but the front page is still full text and images from every post…

    Also, the default image width is more wide than any of the image dimensions I typically use. The result is a gray area where the image does not extend far enough across the page. Any way to change that setting?

    Any ideas? Are these changes possible with the Twenty Fourteen / Jetpack design?

    Here’s my website if it helps:

    And, I’m open to any other suggestions, too…

    Jetpack doesn’t control the look of the posts on your site. That’s controlled by your theme.

    You can, however, split the content of each one of your blog posts in 2 parts thanks to the More tag:
    <!--more-->

    Everything that is above the More tag will appear on your home page, followed by a link inviting users to click to continue reading; everything that is below that tag will only appear on the post’s page.

    You can read more about it here:

    I selected “Summary” for “For each article in a feed, show”

    That setting only controls the text that is displayed in your RSS feed. It won’t change the look of the posts on your home page.

    Also, the default image width is more wide than any of the image dimensions I typically use. The result is a gray area where the image does not extend far enough across the page. Any way to change that setting?

    That’s also controlled by your theme, Twenty Fourteen. I’d recommend using larger images, or edit the theme to remove the Featured Image altogether. You could check the instructions here to get started:
