[resolved] Jetpack stats: merging old site stats into new site (3 posts)

I've been running a self-hosted WordPress blog since 2006 at a particular domain and for a variety of reasons, the time has come to use a different domain and refresh the site design.

I've managed to get the new site pointing at the old database so that old posts and comments are showing intact on the new site but I can't work out how to get my Jetpack dashboard to carry the old site stats across to the new address and set-up.

Both are listed in my WordPress.com account but I can't work out how to merge the two, or tell Jetpack that the new one should look to the old one for historic data.

    What do I do?

    Old site is http://www.wannabepriest.org.uk
    New site is http://www.revdgreen.org.uk
Both under username for WordPress.com of kdgweb

We can merge the stats of the 2 sites for you, but I would suggest that you redirect wannabepriest.org.uk to revdgreen.org.uk first; as long as the old site stays up, merging stats will be problematic as the old site will keep recording visits.

Once you've created the redirection, could you post again here to confirm the merge?

Thanks for the help. I have now tried to merge the two together but, at the same time, someone over at wordpress.com has merged the statistics together so I think I'm all sorted. Thanks for the help.

I posted there first but was advised I needed to talk over here. As it proved, I've had excellent responses on both sides, so thank you.
