Hoping that someone would have some insights on this: weirdly, my stats on GA are way much lower than the ones on Jetpack. For instance, on Monday, Jetpack says that I had 300 views whereas GA said I had 8!

I checked the Google search console and have no message or warning.

Has anyone seen this and would be able to point me towards what I should investigate is causing this distorsion?

    Thanks

I checked your stats on our end, and they’ve been consistent – your views per visitor have been steady at 2-3 for a few weeks now – so there’s nothing off as far as I can see.

To clarify, Jetpack stats don’t track the following:
    – Visits to uploaded documents and files
    – Visits from browsers that do not execute javascript or load images
    – GoogleBot and other search engine spiders/robots
    – Visits by users that are logged in

I’m not totally familiar with configuring Google Analytics or what it tracks by default, and their support documentation doesn’t go into what they do or do not track with regards to the individual web properties that you set up. This is the document I found:

I did look at your source code, and noticed you have two instances of the “Google Universal Analytics” plugin inserting code into your site: (capture of the code inserted) http://d.pr/n/15vkj

You might want to reach out to that plugin developer to see why your GA stats are so much lower – possibly due to that duplication.

Alternatively you could try a different plugin for your GA tracking – Yoast makes a good one:

Let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you for looking into this; I’ll reach out to the plugin developer.
