Jetpack stats creating a blank page

    Hi there,

    For a little over a week I have been experiencing an issue with my blog where it occasionally loads a white page. It’s not that big a deal, and it’s fine after you refresh, but I’m pretty sure it’s been affecting my stats as I’m getting much less views from Google since this thing is around.

    I’m with Hostgator, I wrote to them and they said that the issue was probably due to a stat plugin. I’m using Jetpack for my stats. Problem is, I love Jetpack, and it’s been keeping my stats for 2 years, and I don’t want to just give it up. Is it truly possible that Jetpack stats are the cause of all this, given that I’ve had it for a while and I’ve only had the blank page issue for a little over a week?

    This white page is most likely a “white screen of death“, caused by a server error. It can be caused by a plugin like Jetpack, or by a mix of 2 conflicting plugins.

    To find out more, we’d need to find out more about the server error itself. Could you contact Hostgator again, and ask them to give you any details they may be able to gather from your server error logs, by looking at the errors around the time where you experienced the “white screen of death”?

    Once they gave you the error details, post them here and we’ll see where to go from there.

    Hello again,

    I found out what was causing the “white screen of death”: it was caused by a plugin called iThemes Security. Once I deactivated it, I no longer had a white screen of death (but I do have way more people trying to break into my account though).

    I recently activated the jetpack plugin for my site Beauty and Wellness Blog
    and it created a blank page. I wasn’t even able to access my admin page and had to contact my hosting provider to get the issue resolved. Only after the plugin was deactivated my site was back to normal.
