    Hello –

When attempting to add a Facebook / Twitter / Linkedin connection via the Jetpack Publicize settings, we receive the following error message:

-32700: parse error. not well formed

We’ve tried to find a solution via this forum or Google, but none seem to exist. Can you please advise how we should proceed.

    Thanks in advance!!

  • Here the same of many:

Something which should never happen, happened. Sorry about that. If you try again, maybe it will work. Error code: -32301

I guess that’s should be a bug in Jetpack or, otherwise, at least you should consider to add some other instruction to users for Jetpack installation as part of plugin’s setup process. I’ve tried various ways on different OS and browsers, the message is still there…

Could you both try to delete all Jetpack plugin files, and then install the plugin again? Your current jetpack folder might be missing some files.

If that doesn’t help, could you post your site URL here, or send it to us via this contact form, so we can have a look at your site?

Can you please try installing the Jetpack Compatibility Plugin so we can see some additional information from your site?

    1) Download the plugin from http://plugins.svn.wordpress.org/jetpack/branches/jetpack-compatibility-test.zip
    2) Upload the plugin to your site via Dashboard -> Plugins -> Add New.
    3) Activate the plugin and go to Plugins -> Jetpack Compatibility Test.
    4) Click the “Select All” button.
    5) Send the results of the test back in an email, via this contact form:

    Thanks!

    Thanks Jeremy
I have done that, and hope to get a fix for this issue soon πŸ™‚

For folks receiving the -32301 error code, that usually means that your site is set to private in some way. Either your web host will not allow connections from our servers at WordPress.com or you’ve set up your site to be accessible to only certain folks, which means Jetpack will not have access.

    Hello,

I don’t receive a code of error and the Facebook and Twitter buttons are functional, but it’s the buttons under the “plus” menu that are not visible. No mouse over visibility, and the link activated when clicked is a simple # added to the post URL.

@gillesenvrac Could you post in a new thread about this, since the problem seems to be different?
    Thanks.

Tim what then do I need to tell my host to get this to work? I’m getting that error message, and I can’t find any way to resolve it.

I’m getting that error message, and I can’t find any way to resolve it.

even after WP 3.5 update, I still get “Error code: -32301” only for “Publicize” function πŸ™

I am getting this error as well.
I understand it MIGHT be my host – I spoke with them today and went ahead and did the following:
    Reinstall wordpress
    reinstall jetpack
    Registered a new website
Completely new blog and new address

    again I get this error
“Something which should never happen, happened. Sorry about that. If you try again, maybe it will work. Error code: -32301”

Please this is getting very frustrating as I need that feature to re-novate all the websites and pages.
I sent a support ticket – still no one got back to me – any idea? What should I tell my hosting company about this if needed? How can I fix it myself?
    No whitespaces
no plugin issues ( all is brand new thus shouldnt)
    automated installation and not manual
    all else works perfectly

    “32301” Issue

    Wow! It finally works!

I already tried to configure the ‘Publicize’ function, and it suddenly connected with LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook apps.

Thanks to those who fixed it! πŸ™‚

    Hi again
I have never fully given up on this function, and keep returning to it in the hopes that it would work. Well after reading miloz’s recent success with it, I once again tried, and while clicking through all the selections (facebook, flickr, etc, etc, etc), suddenly one of them connected to the service (although this was not the one I wanted), inspired by this turn of events I continued to try them all again, and again, and again, until the service I wanted finally gave in and connected.
So it seems that there is/was no problem with my server settings, just a temperamental feature, that did in the end work.
Thank you to all the contributors in this thread.

Getting the same error message (-32301) today when trying to re-add a Twitter account with Publicize. The Post By Email function has also stopped working. Help.

It looks like http://www.redmondsmusic.com/ is intermittently not accessible and returns an error. That may be what is causing this error. Can you look at your web server’s error logs and see if there is any info?
