# Jetpack Plugin not updating

 * Hi there,
 * I’m having trouble updating my plugins. I keep getting an error code:
    Parse 
   error: syntax error, unexpected $end, expecting ‘(‘ in /home/solution/public_html/
   wp-admin/includes/class-wp-upgrader.php on line 227
 * Anyone have an idea of what the problem could be?

 * The message above is saying there is a fault in the file class-wp-upgrader.php
 * On your Updates page in the blog admin (just next to the Dashboard link at the
   top of the sidebar) you can reinstall WordPress. I would try that. This will 
   replace all the WP core files for you.

 * I get this error message on the top of the screen, with only the options to check
   for more updates.
 * An automated WordPress update has failed to complete – please attempt the update
   again now.
 * I’m already on the latest version of wordpress as far as I know, I’m not sure
   where to go from here. Will I have to re-install everything and backup the database?
   Or is there a shorter option??

 * Backing up the database is always a good thing to do.
 * You say ‘when updating your plugins’ – does this happen when you try to update
   a single plugin or multiple plugins?
 * The site linked from your name looks to be okay – is that the one presenting 
   the issue?
 * Are you familiar with ftp? Would you be able to replace just the single file 
   at /wp-admin/includes/class-wp-upgrader.php ?
