Jetpack Mobile – Change "Powered by WordPress"

    Love JetPack Mobile but would like to change the wording of “powered by wordpress”.

    I’ve tried searching but can only come up with the advice to “include CSS modifications in your own theme files or in a separate file which you reference from your theme. If you modify the Jetpack files, then the next time you update the plugin your changes will be lost“.

    Being a noob, I have no idea what that means or how to accomplish it.

    Can anybody guide me through it?

    That means you need to make that change in your theme’s CSS – via a Child Theme or custom CSS – do you have either one set up. What theme are you using and a link to your site would be relevant.

    I have no idea what a child theme is. I did use custom CSS within a plug-in called TablePress and it seemed pretty straightforward after some pretty awesome help right here on this site.

    My site is nicenormalfamily.com and I’m using 3.5.1.
    The theme I use is zbench, but the developer seems to have stopped answering questions about the theme.

    I have narrowed down that the mobile theme is definitely not some other plug-in, it’s definitely coming from JetPack.

    Edit to add: Though keep in mind that if you update Jetpack, you will have to re-add your changes to the files, as they will be overwritten.

    Thanks for replying but I’m really looking for a solution that will be permanent and will last through any updates. I guess I should ask for help writing custom css. ?

    There isn’t one.

    What you want to do overrides what this part of this plugin has been designed to do. Custom CSS isn’t going to change this, and will still be overwritten by any updates.

    The only way to have a “permanent solution” is to write your own mobile theme instead of using Jetpack’s.
